For they shall see eye to eye.
1- How has Israel sinned?
2- When will Israel know who The LORD is?
3- What can we do?
4- How will Messiah’s Body unite?
Isa 52:5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
Shalom Haverim (friends),
The people of Israel have suffered through the most horrific persecutions the world has ever known. Not only the Holocaust, but in every generation, in every nation, lesser known genocides and persecutions have taken place. We can look at the Holy Scriptures and see where G-d has spoken against Israel for their disobedience, where he has promised that curses would follow them, where his anger has gone forth and he has sent armies to conquer and remove them from their land.
How has Israel sinned?
It is the natural inclination for man to look for REASONS, often so we can justify and assure ourselves that it can’t happen to us. Yeshua (Jesus) does not allow this rationalizing as he admonishes the disciples, “Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?” Lu 13:4
We have all sinned, but G-d is not looking for Israel’s sin or ours, He is looking for a way OUT of sin for us.
Isa 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
Jer 33:25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob …
Thank G-d he feels this way about Israel, for as adopted sons of Abraham, we can hope for the same mercy as this. We must also be willing to see others with the same mercy as well:
Joh 8:7 He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Ro 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
There is danger especially in judging Israel-
Isa 54:17 … every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Ro 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
The only reason we should bring up Israel’s sins is to remind ourselves that we DO do the same things and to fear G-d and pray for Israel and ourselves that our sins will be revealed to us so we can repent and not be held accountable for them.
When will Israel know who The LORD is?
The “World” judges Israel for being a problem for them, blaming them for the persecutions they have endured for thousands of years, for the Holocaust, and for the fact that they are being attacked and murdered every day by young Arab men who have been filled with lies and hatred. The so-called historical “Church” blames Israel for not knowing their Messiah, whose “name has been blasphemed” to Israel by that same “Church” and those who have committed atrocities in His name. As Isa 52:5 says, “my people are taken away for NAUGHT.” For NO reason. How can I say this verse is talking about TODAY? Because verse 8 says, “when the LORD brings back Zion.” This is in OUR day. It is not the fault of Israel TODAY that they don’t know their Messiah. Even if some scriptures indicate that it was the fault of their ancestors’ that must be balanced by the many scriptures that speak of G-d’s mercy to His people. We must also understand what has been done to them in the name of their Messiah to cause them to have an absolute certainty that whoever their Messiah might be, it cannot be the one revered by what they know as “Christianity.”
So what can we do?
Isa 40:1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.
Verse 6 says “they shall know in that day.” So TODAY is the day when G-d says they will know. But HOW can we help Israel see their G-d? Today Jewish People are beginning to see that Christians are their friends, and their ONLY friends. Bible believing Evangelical Christians are the only group of people who unquestioningly support Israel’s right to exist, and most recognize their right to ALL of the land they now occupy, which is only a small portion of what the world set aside and promised them after WWII.
Isa 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, …; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
We have all heard the first part of this verse and sung the song, but rarely do I hear a teaching on the second part- SAY UNTO ZION. Zion doesn’t understand that The G-d of Christianity is the same G-d as theirs. That is ONE key. We can BE A WITNESS, If we can love them enough to show them that our G-d loves them unlike the “Christian god” of destruction they have seen through history, Then they will begin to see us as brothers and may see YESHUA, their brother, as their friend as well.
Christian brothers:
There is another problem for Israel about trusting Christians however. If Christians have such difficulty loving each other, how can they be trusted to love the Jewish People? There are over 20,000 denominations and they all seem to hate each other! But even for this I see hope. Believers are the watchmen over Israel and look-
Isa 52:8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
I believe Christians will be united in THESE days over one issue: ISRAEL. It is already happening and it is on G-d’s time schedule, NOW.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
